812 is a two story, mixed use project in downtown Columbia; a retail shop on the main level with a two bedroom apartment above. During an initial phase of the project the owners discovered an old advertising mural on an adjacent building’s exterior wall. We embraced the idea of displaying this mural on the main and second floors, and then we added an industrial chic look to play off of the rustic character of this mural. This building now engages Main Street with an active storefront and embraces the downtown lifestyle with a rear outdoor patio for the apartment.
