For the 1890 brick building once described as “an ornament to Main Street” the past had been largely forgotten. New ownership revived the story of what had been a livery stable at the turn of the 20th century in the form of Stable Reserve Distillery, the first distillery within the city limits of Franklin since Prohibition. The persistent and patient process of discovery unpeeled layers of original two inch walnut floors over a century old. The six original horse stalls are still intact and a custom tasting bar was designed around them. The southern brew bar was designed to create its own sense of place within Franklin’s rich history, honoring the client’s founding principles of preservation, community and people.
“906 Studio understood our vision, blending modern innovation and historic integrity in our Main Street location. The team worked with us from start to finish to bring our idea to life, navigating the challenges and surprises of a building from the 1800s. Our finished space (and Preservation Award from the Williamson County Heritage Foundation) speaks to their passion for making Stable Reserve the community fixture it’s become.” - Beth Goodwin, Stable Reserve Spirits
