The Williamson County Animal Center represented a significant undertaking in the city of Franklin, requiring collaboration across a variety of parties, from specialized animal consultants to site planners and county representatives, all while coordinating with a general contractor during the dynamic construction environment of 2020.
This over 33,000 sf facility was designed to represent the very latest in animal-centric design and established a new standard for facilities of this type. It included a variety of components such as adoption, impound and medical areas which each had their own entry lobby as well as a 1,200 sf education hall and also a 1,200 sf animal training center. Other notable features included a dedicated medical wing with a state-of-the-art surgery center, a variety of volunteer support areas and daylighting throughout the space.
“I cannot imagine having completed our project without the expertise of 906 Studio Architects. Brandon, Mike and the team were professional in every way, accessible, knowledgeable, and always friendly and supportive in every way. The design of the project speaks for itself. People constantly comment that we have the most beautiful Animal Center they have ever seen.” - Ondrea Johnson, Director, Williamson County Animal Center
